1) Where are you located?  

The office is located at 1919 N. Pearl St, Ste. C-1, Tacoma,WA 98407. (The southeast corner of N. 21st and Pearl St.)

2) What are the nearest landmarks? 

To the west of us is Rite Aid, to the north of us is Westgate Shopping Center (ex: Bank of America & Columbia Bank) and to the south of us is Westgate Baptist Church.

3) What kind of counseling do you do? 

We do individual, marital, family, adolescent, group, and child counseling (age 3 and up). 

4) What issues do you deal with?

We deal with Grief/loss, stress management, ADHD management, sexual dysfunction, drug/alcohol dependency, depression, anxiety, compulsions, divorce/remarriage, domestic and sexual abuse, conflict management, infidelity, sexual addiction, career development, co-dependency, spiritual issues, anger management, and pre-marital.

5) Do you have any groups? 

We do offer groups. Contact the office for more information

6) How much does it cost. 

Our fees range from $80 to $125 for the first session and $80 to $100 for each additional session.

7) Do you have a sliding fee scale?

Currently we have only one male counselor who works off a sliding fee. Other counselors in the office may reduce their costs for non-insurance clients if they pay at the time of service.

8) Do you take my insurance?

Our counselors take most major insurances (Regence, Premera, First Choice, Uniform Medical, Aetna, Cigna, MHN, Tricare, Value Options, etc.) as preferred providers. Many others are covered at non-network rates.

9) How long are your sessions?

Generally, most sessions run 50-60 minutes. If you wish to have longer sessions you would arrange that with your counselor.

10) What are your hours?

Receptionist and billing office hours are from 9:00 to 1:00 and 2:00 to 5:00 Mon.- Fri.  Each counselor has their own scheduled hours.

11) Do you have evenings and weekends?

No one at this time will be working Saturday.

12) Do I have to pay at the time of service? 

If you have no insurance, you are expected to pay at the time of service. If you have insurance, and your counselor is a preferred provider, you are expected to pay your copay.  (We bill for coinsurances and deductibles).  If your counselor is out of network, you are expected to pay any copays, coinsurances or deductibles at the time of service.  If insurance sends the payments to you, you are expected to pay in full at the time of service.

13) Do you take Medicare, Medicaid or DSHS coupons? 

No.

14) Can you do medications? 

No.  We do not have any one with prescriptive authority.

15) What kind of counselors do you have?

We have licensed marriage and familycounselors, LMFT, licensed mental health counselors, LMHC, LMHCA, and a licensed social worker. All are master’s level counselors.

16) Are all your counselors Christian?

Yes  Do I have to be a Christian to see one? No

17) Can I make payment arrangements?

Yes. 

18) Do you take credit/debit cards?

We take Mastercard and Visa.

19) Do you take court –ordered clients?

Only if we are approved by the court.

20) How long do I have to be in counseling? 

This varies depending on your issue. This will be decided between you and your counselor.

21) If I don’t like my counselor can I change counselors?

Yes. We ask that you respectfully let your current counselor know that you wish to change and that you have settled any debts with that counselor before swithching.

22) If I’ve seen a counselor there before and switch to another counselor do I have to fill out all the paperwork again?

Yes. The counselors are independent contractors and, therefore, in business for themselves.

23) How often do we meet? 

To begin with, it generally is once a week.

24) Will you bill my insurance? 

We will bill all insurances as a courtesy to the client. We will also bill secondary insurances as well.

25) Can I bring my children?

We ask that you do not bring your children unless they are the client or will be part of the session.

26) Are you wheel chair accessible? 

The first floor is accessible. Please let the receptionist or counselor know if you need special accommodations.

27) Do I need a referral? 

Check with your insurance plan before you come in.  Some require one and some do not.
