Biographical Information:

I have been married for over thirty years and have raised four children. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, going on long walks, and kayaking with friends. Most of all, I enjoy getting to know others; to hear the story of another and journey with them is one of the greatest privileges I count as my own. We are all lost, broken, or wounded at various times; we need each other to find our way to a place of greater self-understanding and increased internal peace, where we can develop more life-giving and sustaining relationships.

Therapeutic Style:

My work as a therapist is built on the foundation of relationship we develop as therapist and client. A healthy therapeutic relationship provides an environment of safety and warmth where you can boldly address those parts of yourself and aspects of your life that you cannot safely examine outside the therapy room. Lack of relational and emotional safety is at the root of much of our emotional and mental pain and disease. From the time we are born until the moment we die, we are influenced and formed by our relationships and experiences. Just as relational neglect, abuse, or chaos leads to internal fragmentation and rigidity or feeling “stuck”, relational safety and warmth lead to healing from brokenness and greater internal freedom. There are few places in life where we can be entirely real and honest, where it is safe to be heard, and where one’s focus does not need to be on the welfare of the other person. Therapy is such a place. Each of us is worth the time and effort it takes to find healing and wellness. I consider it an honor to walk beside you as you journey towards a deeper understanding of yourself, and a more free, joyful life.
